Connect your Workspace to Jira to boost project speed and work with (and discuss) Jira tasks directly in Leverice. With Jira integration, you’ll see an events stream that updates in realtime with what’s happening in Jira, so you can immediately comment on items in your Workspace without switching between different platforms.

Bear in mind that only a Jira administrator can be a Jira channel creator.

To integrate Jira, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new public/private channel;

  2. Hover your cursor over the channel in the channel tree;

  3. Click on the 3-dot button which appears to the right of the channel name;

  4. Click Channel Settings;

  5. Select Jira in the newly-opened pop-up window;

  6. Click Install;

  7. Type in a Jira Root key (see the details below);

  8. Copy and paste a Jira Site Name (see the details below);

  9. Type in Atlassian email (see the details below);

  10. Paste Jira api token (see how to generate an api token below);

  11. Click Activate.

Where to find a Jira Root key?

  1. Open your Jira in the browser;

  2. Select Projects;

  3. Search for the project you need to integrate;

4. The second column named Key displays your Jira Root key.

Where to find your Jira Site name?

  1. Open your Jira in the browser;

  2. Copy the URL address up to the first single slash. For example: https://company.atlassian.net

Where to look up your Atlassian id (email)?

  1. Open your Jira in the browser;

  2. Click on the Your Profile and Settings icon in the lower left-hand corner;

  3. Select Profile;

4. Find your email in the Contact section on the left.

How to generate a Jira api token?

  1. Open your Jira in the browser;

  2. Click on the Your Profile and Settings icon in the lower left-hand corner;

  3. Select Account Settings;

  4. Click Security in the Atlassian Account section on the left;

  5. Click Create and manage API tokens under the heading API token;

  6. Click Create API token;

  7. Type in the token name in the Label field;

  8. Click Create;

  9. Click Copy.

Bear in mind that after closing Your new API token window you will not be able to access the token again.
